Dieting, Steady State Cardio, and Abs – Disaster or Miracle?

Diet DisasterDieting on it’s own will ultimately fail.  You see, the requirements for the human body to sustain life requires the 3 basic macro nutrients; Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fat which breaks down into calories.  While dieting, it’s important to cut down those calories and create an deficit.

Because of the deficit, you will lack certain needed macro nutrients which will force your body will ultimately cannibalize itself, unless you can tell it other wise.  Now cannibalizing is a good thing as long as it takes it from the right place (Stored Fat). If you do it incorrectly, your metabolism will go into melt down.  Here’s an example: If you don’t consume enough protein every day, your body will break down it’s own muscle fiber to stay alive.

Steady state cardio over long distances will also force the body to bulge the belly.  See, when your body goes though long duration cardio (45 Minutes +) without high intensity or intervals, this long term physical stress forces the body release a hormone called “cortisol” which is a fat storing hormone that ultimately stores your calorie intake to saved energy (body fat)… and guess where?  You guessed right.  In the gut.

Individual abdominal and core targeted exercises is the best way to sculpt and define the abs.  This will give you amazing looking 6 pack abs.  The problem is that those amazing looking 6 pack abs are hidden around unwanted and ugly belly fat.  It then gets worse as your abdominal muscles grow and shape, it will push your gut out further ultimately making your belly slightly larger than before.Research

I have been constantly researching new and innovative training strategies from reading over 527 research papers, training hundreds of in-person clients, and working with thousands of clients online. Now I finally figured out the exact formula that pinpoints the most effective way to a 6 pack guaranteed in no time but it does involve what we discussed about above.

I even went 10 steps further to breaking the complex puzzle down to a simple, easy to follow, 3-step formula, called Rapid Fire Abs Trifecta.

Stay tuned as I’ll go into detail to Rapid Fire Abs Trifecta.

YES! Just say no to extended cardio and cortisol!

I was training for a marathon, and so I was pounding down a lot of complex carbs in between extended cardio sessions, and my belly fat really started to show! I had no idea that I was creating cortisol + adding too many complex carbs to my diet = creating a perfect environment for fat accumulation!

    But…

I HAVE heard (according to research) that a weekly day of fasting (in conjunction with a good workout regimen and healthy diet on the other six days) can stimulate the production of human growth hormone and really turbo charge fat burning efforts within the body. Definition of fasting: No breakfast, no lunch, normal sized dinner.

I’m excited to read those details; hopefully they’ll be really effective. I’ve done the diet routine and traditional abs exercises but I still have not achieved my goal of having a flab-free, awesome looking abs that I used to have in my younger years (30′s).

20-40 mins cardio (in the morning) at least three times a week but no more than 5. Mix it up run a minute walk a minute, a short rest period keeps the amount of ‘PHYSICAL STRESS’ from piling up.

Also count the carbs try to stay lower than 30grams a day

BUT REMEMBER THIS, THE WORKOUT MUST BE CHALLENGING

To strip the fat fast some include 1 hr to 2 hrs cardio daily for a couple of weeks. I believe this is fine for such a short term.

Hi There has to be a place for steady state exercise in athletic preparation…..capilorization etc…. i totally agree that the fat burning zone has done more harm than good as some will see it as the panacea the holy grail of fat loss, denying themselves of the benefits of intervals muscle density and calorie burning!!!

Wow, people still think that long cardio will help with belly fat :) I learned that in my own time and switched to high intensity interval training (tabata, circuit) I got rid of my belly in 10 months, lost 80 pounds.
Most people keep doing what they think it’s “best” but the results are the same and they still keep doing it and expect a different result.

There are lots of ways to lose belly fat or fat in general, the quickest for me was interval training. I tried Joel Marion’s Extreme fat Loss Diet and also worked like a charm, I tried Arnel’s push up interval routine and it also produced results. Why did all these programs produce results for me? Because I had a pretty good diet and I had one cheat meal per week, sometimes even a whole day of cheating.

Foods or products that are your enemy : soda’s, fructose drinks soft drinks, candy, alcohol, pastries, fried potatoes (or any kind of potato except sweet)

Keep clean for 2 months without any kind of sweet stuff, relieve yourself of all that corn syrup in your system and you will feel much better, even the veggies will taste better.

Keep your workouts short, from 30 to 45 minutes, but in that short time please apply yourself to the max!

Hi Arnel, Hi everybody ! I know Arnel’s programs work because I lost 20 lbs in 2 months following your six pack abs training program. The problem I had is that I looked to thin. I shrank in size and looked older. I went from 170 lbs to 150 lbs but my ideal weight is 160 lbs. I was doing the resistance training and all, but still, lost weight but did not gain muscle. What do I do to lose weight, that’s fine, but to gain muscle and look bigger?
